Mind the Gap

Entering the tunnels

"Mind the Gap" places players in a reimagined Paris Métro and catacomb system where space itself is unreliable. Corridors fold back on themselves, platforms open into impossible chambers, and each step carries you further from the familiar. What begins as a search through the underground becomes a descent into a world where geometry, memory, and identity blur.

A Fourth Dimension of Play

The core mechanic is the W-axis scroll — a way of moving through slices of 4D space. Objects appear, vanish, or transform as you shift between dimensions, revealing hidden paths and unsettling distortions. Familiar items, like chairs and suitcases, warp into otherworldly shapes as they slide out of your slice of reality. The result: exploration that feels both uncanny and deeply tactile.

Between Liminal and Impossible

At its heart, "Mind the Gap" is about being caught between places:

Between transit and destination

Between language and silence

Between the known and the unknown

The project merges research into liminal spaces, non-Euclidean design, and 4D geometry to create an experience that is both architectural and psychological, a game about the unease of not quite belonging, and the beauty hidden in that disorientation.
