Overview
Tempo Rubato is a commissioned VR artwork developed for FRAC Île-de-France, exploring multisensory access to an immersive environment. It brings together digitally scanned sculptures produced through inclusive workshops with sound, tactile feedback and visual guidance.
Challenge
The design challenge was supporting visitors with different perceptual abilities and accessibility needs. Interactions and orientation needed to work beyond conventional visual cues, while the artistic material retained its expressive identity in VR.
Development
The Unity VR experience integrated 3D-scanned sculptures with spatial audio, haptic responses and guided light pathways. Development focused on comfortable navigation and complementary sensory cues that allow visitors to engage with the work in different ways.
Outcome
The finished VR artwork was commissioned by and subsequently collected by FRAC Île-de-France. The project demonstrates accessible interaction design and the use of real-time VR to extend participatory artistic practice.
